Irvine unhurt after spin

Eddie Irvine escaped unhurt after his first run in the new Jaguar R2 was brought to a premature end in Spain.

The Ulsterman careered off the last corner of the Valencia circuit, bouncing across the gravel trap before coming to rest against a tyre wall.

The front end of the R2 was badly damaged and the car has been sent back to the factory in Milton Keynes for repairs.

Jaguar now have just one test car remaining at Valencia, in which Irvine will conduct evaluation of the Michelin tyres.

Teammate Luciano Burti was not able to complete any further testing and the Brazilian will now not test until next week at Silverstone and Barcelona.
