Irish Ispat have confirmed that an amount of radio active material has been found in the clean-up operation after a fire at the plant yesterday which claimed the life of 53-year-old Thomas Mulcahy.

It is understood that a number of canisters containing radioactive material were found in the clean-up operation after the fire.
