Irish farmers to meet commissioner

Irish farming leaders are meeting the European agriculture commissioner Franz Fischler today for another round of discussions in Brussels on the BSE scare currently sweeping Europe.

It comes as the continent's cattle destruction scheme gathers pace in tandem with Ireland's in an attempt to stamp out mad cow disease.
