SIPTU is seeking an urgent meeting with the Minister for Agriculture to seek compensation for thousands of workers in meat plants nationwide because of the current cattle cull.

The union is demanding the meeting following job losses in recent days in plants in Monaghan, Leitrim and Mayo.
