Travel operators could face fines for illegal immigrants

Airlines and ferry operators could face fines under new legislation if they are found to be carrying illegal immigrants.

Justice Minister John O'Donoghue said that under the impending laws if a passenger is discovered without adequate documentation, the carrier will be fined.
