The Minister for Arts has denied that she is to intervene to stop Ulster Television purchasing the radio station Cork 96FM.

The Minister for Arts has denied that she is to intervene to stop Ulster Television purchasing the radio station Cork 96FM. Minister Sile de Valera said that UTV's bid to buy the station was entirely a matter for the Independent Radio and Television Commission to decide upon.

She added that she had never given any opinion on the issue.
