100,000 parents to receive back-to-school clothes allowance for children
The Government is to increase overall spending on the grant by €2.1m to €49.5m, but the allowance itself will not increase. It currently stands at €125 for children aged four to 11, and €250 for children over 12.
It was last increased in 2017, by current Taoiseach Leo Varadkar in one of his final acts as Social Protection Minister.
