East Cork residents on scavenger hunt for water

Residents from East Cork go to collect water at the Dolphin's Square car park in Youghal, Co Cork.

We spoke to Bill and Rose Daly from Killeagh and Youghal residents Brenda Porter and Marian O'Shea.

The couple have a private well but it has been frozen since Wednesday.

Snow drifts of five ft prevented them from making it home from work at Middleton Community Hospital Wednesday.

A local farmer had to use his tractor to tow their car the rest of the way home, when they did arrive at their destination they only access they had to water was to melt snow in a saucepan.

"We have animals as well, we've a couple of donkeys and goats and dogs."
