Calls have been made to establish a national space agency to develop space policy for Ireland and to co-ordinate the sector in line with strategic goals.

Calls for Ireland to establish a national space agency

The recommendation is made in a report, entitled ‘A Roadmap for Emerging Space States’, launched yesterday at the conclusion of the nine-week International Space University’s Space Studies Programme 2017, hosted by Cork Institute of Technology.

The report states that the space agency “would be responsible for the development of a comprehensive national policy to address the development of the Irish space sector”.
