The number of people diagnosed with liver cancer has increased over 300% in the past two decades.

A new report by the National Cancer Registry of Ireland found the average number of new cases diagnosed each year has gone from 60 in the mid-1990s to over 270 in 2014.

The incidence rate of the disease has increased significantly since 1994 for males and females with annual average increases of 5% for women and of 6.5% for men.
