Risks remain at Portlaoise hospital, says Hiqa

Risks still remain at the Midland Regional Hospital, Portlaoise, according to a review by the Health Information and Quality Authority (Hiqa).

Furthermore, there is a “continuing lack of certainty around services at the hospital” the review has found.

Published yesterday, the review is an examination of the implementation of the eight recommendations included in Hiqa’s report into the hospital in May 2015.
