Cork Opera House set for record number of panto shows — oh yes they are!

One of the stars of Cork Opera House’s Christmas panto is hitting the gym to prepare for what will be its longest ever run.

Theatre chief executive Eibhlín Gleeson confirmed yesterday that following a record panto box office take last year — with 49 of the 54 Beauty and the Beast shows selling out — this year’s panto, Cinderella, has been extended to cope with demand.

It will open a week earlier, on December 1, and run a weekend later, until January 22 — a record 66 performances. Several shows are already sold out.
