Enda Kenny to meet family over death

Taoiseach Enda Kenny will hold a face-to-face meeting this week with the parents of a man who died in a hit and run, amid their claims that Garda negligence contributed to what happened.

Mr Kenny will meet with Lucia and Jim O’Farrell and their four daughters in Government Buildings at 11.30am on Friday, five years on from the death of the Monaghan family’s son.

Shane O’Farrell died on August 2, 2011, aged 23, when he was hit by a car while cycling near his family home in Carrickmacross.
