Threat to petrol-bomb home, court told

A Cork woman was punched in the face and attacked by a man who then threatened to petrol-bomb her home and kill her and her two children, it was alleged yesterday.

Michael Rutherford was arrested by Sergeant Kieran O’Sullivan and charged with assault causing harm to the woman last Monday evening.

Mr Rutherford applied to be released on bail but Inspector Adrian Gamble said that the prosecution was opposed to bail being granted in the case.
