656 members of Garda Síochána in breach of discipline

A total of 656 members of An Garda Síochána have been found to be in breach of internal Garda discipline over the past four years, with fines totalling €275,731 imposed.

According to the 2015 Annual Garda Report, a total of 167 members were found to be in breach of Garda discipline following internal affairs investigations last year.

The report shows these members received a combination of monetary sanctions, cautions, warnings and reprimands and the total monetary penalty imposed on members was €71,934.
