Young woman accused of causing harm to bouncer

The Director of Public Prosecutions has directed the case against a young woman, accused of assault causing harm to a bouncer at a pub in Cork, could only be dealt with at Cork District Court on a plea of guilty.

Inspector Adrian Gamble said yesterday the DPP had directed trial by judge and jury in the case against Tina O’Driscoll if she was contesting the case.

Ms O’Driscoll, with an address at 9 Ardmore Heights, Knocknaheeny, Cork, is accused of assault causing harm to Kenneth Sheridan at the Old Oak on Oliver Plunkett Street, on February 19 last.

Diarmuid Kelleher, solicitor, asked for the case to be put back until October 14 for the accused to consider her position in relation to the charge.

Judge Olann Kelleher acceded to the application.
