Coastguard volunteer Jenny Carway, injured in the incident, was comforted by colleagues from both the Kilkee and Doolin units of the service during the brief ceremony at the Diamond Rocks in Kilkee.
She was on board the Kilkee Coast Guard Delta RIB capsized by a rogue wave which tossed its three- person crew into the sea.
Jenny was the first to be rescued. James Lucey remained trapped at the base of the cliff for over four hours. He was later rescued by the crew of the Waterford search and rescue helicopter.
Ms Lucas, a Doolin Coast Guard volunteer, died in the tragedy, which has numbed the voluntary search and rescue community across the country.
She was the first volunteer to die in the line of duty.
Fr Jerry Carey addressed the group of about 30 which included members of the Irish Coast Guard, Clare Civil Defence, and An Garda Síochána. A photo of the late Ms Lucas was placed at the scene.
