One of the survivors of Monday’s coastguard tragedy in Co Clare laid a wreath yesterday on the cliff top near the scene where Caitríona Lucas lost her life.

Hours before the removal took place of the volunteer coastguard who died in the line of duty on Monday, the wreckage of the Irish Coast Guard rescue boat was recovered.

The Irish Coast Guard has confirmed that two investigations will be carried out into the death of their first ever volunteer to be killed in the line of duty.
