Supervalu points the finger at itself after recipe typo

The retailerâs recipe leaflets, widely available in stores across the country, often give finger-licking suggestions for meals which will appeal to the whole family.
However, those laying out one recipe for a âhealthy midweek mealâ on one of the most recent recipe cards clearly didnât knuckle down and check the print carefully.
As a result the MassaMAN curry appeared to have more man than it should have â advising customers to include a half-thumb sized piece of fresh finger.
Ironically the recipe is for a vegetarian curry.
âWe would like to apologise for our little human error on our most recent recipe leaflets in store,â it wrote on its Facebook page on Thursday afternoon.
âWe made a tiny mistake on The Happy Pearâs Massaman Curry recipe.
âWe seriously do not condone putting a half thumb-sized piece of fresh finger, peeled and finely sliced into your dish!
âWe of course meant ginger! We also highly recommend you are careful when slicing and dicing your ingredients â so watch your fingers please!â
It then attached a corrected version of the recipe. According to Supervalu, when the dish is cooked without errant digits, it is âa fresh, quick, tasty dinner thatâs a real crowd pleaserâ. Posters took to social media to give the gaffe a thumbs up on the hilarity front.
