Discipline probes see 11 gardaí quit force

Eleven gardaí left the force between 2014 and 2015 as a result of being the subject of an internal investigation for alleged serious breaches of discipline.

Figures published by An Garda Síochána show seven officers resigned in the two-year period before any finding was made against them, while four more resigned as an alternative to being dismissed.

Details of the scale of alleged serious breaches of discipline within the force were released under the Freedom of Information Act.
