IRELAND

A group of solicitors from around the country are coming together to win damages against the State,  for people sexually abused in Irish primary schools.

A major hunt is under way for three men after a woman was dragged away from her bike, pulled into a park, and raped.  Gardaí are investigating reports that two men held the woman down, while a third man sexually assaulted her.

RTÉ is currently filming an autumn series on the legacy of Enda Kenny — and it’s being viewed as a clear signal as to the timing of his stepping down.  The national broadcaster has already interviewed a number of politicians as part of what is expected to be a two-part series.

The Road Safety Authority is appealing for drivers to make  safe choices this weekend.  It comes after two young men and one 21-year-old woman died in a two-car collision on the outskirts of Letterkenny yesterday morning.

With 12 people dead in road smashes in the last five days, five of them in the space of just 24 hours in Donegal, the Road Safety Authority has appealed to motorists to take care over the bank holiday weekend   so as not to add to the road carnage.
