Cork's Fitzgerald Park to be tranformed into an outdoor cinema

A city park will be transformed into an outdoor cinema for a summer screening tomorrow night.

Fitzgerald Park in Cork will host a pop-up screening of the 1986 coming of age, comedy-drama classic Stand By Me, organised by Happenings Cork, who have teamed up with 7Up and Cork City Council to create fun events in public spaces at short notice.

The Happenings concept works by taking advantage of good weather and instant communication to gather hundreds of people at short notice. It has staged events in Dublin, Kilkenny, Limerick and Cork.
