Tyrone Gaelic football star Cathal McCarron has appeared in court charged in connection with a public order incident on a Dublin street.

The 2008 All-Ireland winner appeared at Dublin District Court on Monday to face an allegation of engaging in threatening and abusive behaviour at Anglesea St on May 12 last. The charge is under Section Six of the Public Order which can result in a fine as well as a three-month sentence.

The 28-year-old, from Tummery Rd, Dromore, Omagh, who has three Ulster title medals, is on the Tyrone panel in contention for another All-Ireland Championship victory this year.
