Liam Neeson named top-grossing Irish actor at US box office

Liam Neeson has become the highest-grossing Irish actor of all time raking in almost $3bn (€2.69bn) in ticket sales at the US box office.

With a blockbuster catalogue that includes Taken and Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, Neeson, 64, is ranked at No 21 on the list of the biggest box office draws.

Top of the charts is 73-year-old Harrison Ford with a gross total of almost $5bn thanks mainly to his role in last year’s super-hit Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
