Fianna Fáil: Loss of home may be the best option

A temporary halt to home repossessions is not the solution and some people would actually be better off if they lost their home, Fianna Fáil finance spokesman Michael McGrath has said.

Speaking as the Oireachtas committee on housing and homelessness published its report recommending a pause on repossessions, Mr McGrath said such a move would not work.

In an interview with the Irish Examiner, Mr McGrath said losing the home and starting again may be best for some people who can no longer afford to remain where they are.
