VIDEO: Section of Moores Hotel wall collapses in Cork

Part of the front wall of the derelict Moores Hotel in Cork city collapsed this afternoon, narrowly missing a passer-by.

Cllr Michael Creed witnessed the incident on Morrison's Quay.

"There was a girl walking just underneath and had gone two feet beyond it when it fell."

Cllr Creed said she didn't hear it happen as she had earphones in but when she turned around and saw it she got a terrible fright.

"When she turned around and say what happened she nearly got a weakness."

The area has been cordoned off.
