Transdev warn Luas drivers of strike consequences

The managing director of Transdev, the operator of the Luas, has warned drivers “very serious consequences” will arise for the company unless the current dispute over pay is resolved.

In a letter to staff, Gerry Madden said there are 300 people working in Transdev “and many of those are seriously concerned about their future”.

A 24-hour stoppage by drivers, who have demanded pay rises of up to 23%, began yesterday morning and three more strikes are planned for May and six in June.
