Gardaí monitor IS sympathisers

Gardaí are understood to be monitoring the reaction of radicals here to the bombing attacks in Brussels.

Gardaí are checking what these individuals are saying, either on social media or on their phones, and with whom they are in contact.

The effort is part of a range of strategies by the Garda security apparatus to keep an eye on what sources say are a “small number” of people of concern.
