St Patrick's Day parades 2016: Imagine If... Centenary parade looks to the next 100 years

In preparation for Dublin’s 2016 centenary year St Patrick’s Day parade, a series of workshops took place with young people around Ireland to discuss their hopes for the future. The result is an explosion of colour and imagination as the theme, ‘Imagine if…’, celebrates our national vision for the next 100 years.

In keeping with the focus on youth, disability rights activist Joanne O’Riordan, 19, will be Dublin’s youngest ever grand marshal. More than 250,000 people will line the streets of the capital for contributions from perennial favourites such as Wexford-based arts group Buí Bolg, Inishowen Carnival Group, and Artastic street spectacle company from Kildare, as well as visiting marching bands from the US, UK, and Brittany.
