Case of attack on elderly man in Cork city adjourned
Seán Heelan appeared at Cork District Court by video link from prison yesterday on the charge of assault causing harm to the pensioner on December 2, 2015.
Inspector Fergal Foley said directions were still not available from the DPP in the case, but that they would be available on February 11.
Defence solicitor Michael Quinlan did not object to the prosecution application to adjourn the case for a fortnight in those circumstances.
Mr Heelan, aged 29, of Cork Simon community and originally from Boherbue, Co Cork, is accused of assault causing harm to an 79-year-old man at St Paul’s Avenue, off Cornmarket St, Cork, at 9.30pm on December 1.
