Threat to jobs which aid rural development in Cork as funds from central government delayed

Local Community Development Committees (LCDCs) had their funding cut last year by a staggering 71%. Cork County Council decided to step into the breach and provide some money for the organisations, but despite promises the Government has yet to even inform them of what their allocation will be this year.
County council officials said it was likely that government funding wouldn’t be received by the LCDCs until May or June.
