PICS: Seán Óg Ó hAilpín and Siobhán Quirke make the perfect match
The Fijian-Irish athlete wed girlfriend of 16 years, Siobhán Quirke, who he proposed to in November 2014 during a romantic trip to New York.
The bride, who is from Innishannon but now based in London, looked stunning in a sleeveless white silk and lace embroidered gown.
Hurler and footballer Seán Óg also looked dashing in a black tuxedo, briefly stealing the limelight when he performed the Rotuma Island dance with his brothers Teu, Setanta and Aisake Ó hAilpín and his mother Emilie.
Seán Óg and Siobhán, who friends say are “made for each other”, tied the knot in front of guests including Cork’s Eoin Cadogan and Nicholas Murphy at St Michael’s Garrison Church in Collins Barracks — the same church where Siobhán’s brother, Alan, married long-time girlfriend Christina O’Leary in 2009.

Alan, former Cork football goalkeeper and a member of the Defence Forces, has been based at Collins Barracks for a number of years.
Both couples also chose the Rochestown Park Hotel in Douglas for their reception.
Of course, Ó hAilpín wasn’t the only GAA star to get hitched this new year’s — Dublin football captain Stephen Cluxton married his girlfriend of five years Joanne O’Connor in Killenard on New Year’s Eve, while Kerry football star Paul Galvin wed Today FM presenter Louise Duffy the same day.
