Joan Burton: Fine Gael-only government would lack balance

Tánaiste Joan Burton has warned voters not to return Fine Gael to power by itself, saying such a single-party government would be “centre right”, lack balance and benefit “wealth creators” at the expense of ordinary people.

The Labour leader made the claim as an opinion poll shows Labour and Fine Gael both up.

Ms Burton said, in her view, Labour has helped to reduce the impact of some of Fine Gael’s more controversial tax and social policies while in power.
