Enda Kenny rules out establishing IBRC tribunal before election

Taoiseach Enda Kenny has ruled out establishing a €100m tribunal into IBRC deals that could last over a decade and has said a solution to the botched inquiry will not be agreed before the general election.

Mr Kenny has now agreed to circulate potential legislation to empower the commission of investigation examining IBRC’s sale of state assets to Opposition leaders early next month.

During a roundtable and heated discussion with party leaders last night, Mr Kenny deflected blame for the problems that have brought the inquiry to a halt.
