260 jobs for Athlone and Galway with 70 positions filled before Christmas

More than 260 jobs have been announced in Athlone and Galway — with 70 to be filled by Christmas.

Courier company DPD Ireland will create 200 jobs over the next five years, as well as 70 between now and Christmas, as part of a €13m expansion at its headquarters in Athlone.

On completion, the expansion will enable the company to triple its daily hub handling capacity from 60,000 to 150,000.
