Dublin to ring in the new year in style with three-day festival

Dublin is to host a three-day festival to celebrate the ringing in of the new year, it was announced yesterday.

The Government is hoping the event, which was held for the first time last year, will attract thousands of tourists.

A major concert at the 3 Arena is to be the centrepiece of the festival which will also see a procession of light through Dublin city centre and a world record attempt for the largest ever bodhrán session.
