Labour rule out abolishing Universal Social Charges for higher earners if returned back in government

Labour have ruled out abolishing Universal Social Charges for higher earners if returned to government — and signalled that savings should instead go on services.

But Finance Minister Michael Noonan insisted yesterday, while speaking in Brussels, that Fine Gael wanted to start phasing out the charge within the first two years of the next government.
