Cork solicitor jailed for stealing client funds

A former solicitor was jailed for two years yesterday for stealing money from his clients to prop up his ailing ventures in the pub trade.

“It is nothing short of outrageous to treat his clients like this,” Judge Seán Ó Donnabháin said at Cork Circuit Criminal Court.

“He got this money in the course of his work and used it to pay for his bars. He breached every tenet of the profession he joined and he could have stopped it a lot earlier,” he said.
