A campaign of harassment by two Killarney jarveys against a husband and wife who had formed a rival jarvey co-operative business with a number of others was “scurrilous” and born out of greed, a judge has said.

The campaign by brothers Michael and Paul Tangney relentlessly targeted Michael Sweetman and wife Julie via email, phone, and internet, night and day.

The case at Killarney District Court, which has taken a number of days over the last 13 months, was told that old-fashioned mockery and “craic” at the expense of the Sweetmans had also been employed.
