Taoiseach Enda Kenny has joined with Ireland’s Muslim leaders in condemning the Paris attacks by stating that “mayhem and murder have no place in a democratic society”.

Speaking in Castlebar, Co Mayo, he reassured the public that the threat of a terror attack in Ireland is very low.

“In so far as Ireland is concerned we are very conscious that terrorism can strike anywhere, we don’t have any information, any updated information, to the effect that there is anything planned in Ireland or planned about Ireland.
