A former pupil broke down several times at Limerick Circuit Court yesterday during his evidence at the trial of a former teacher, now 73, who denies 78 charges of indecently assaulting 13 boys between September 1978 and June 1981 at the school in the Limerick area.

A man, now aged 47, recalled being sexual assaulted “day in day out, week in week out, month after month” by the accused, who cannot be named for legal reasons. He said every time the accused would open the door to enter the classroom, he got a knot in his stomach.
