One of two siblings on trial for murder told gardaí he was prepared to use violence to rob €2,000 from a 63-year-old man, but not kill him.

Kenneth Cummins, aged 28, and Sabrina Cummins, aged 37, Ringsend Park, Dublin 4, have both pleaded not guilty to murdering Thomas Horan, aged 63, at Cambridge Court, Ringsend on January 6, 2014.

The court yesterday heard that, under questioning by gardaí at Irishtown Garda Station on January 8 and 9, 2014, Mr Cummins was asked if he was prepared to kill for the €2,000.
