Granola yogurts recalled due to presence of peanut

Glenisk is recalling two batches of its granola yogurt due to the presence of low levels of peanut.

It was detected in the granola used by Glenisk to produce certain batches of yogurts “with granola”.

The granola is in a separate container attached to the pot of yogurt and, as a result, may make these batches unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of peanut or its constituents.

Glenisk has also advised SuperValu of its intention to recall two products which it produces on behalf of the supermarket, which are also believed to be affected.

The products being recalled are:

• Glenisk 0% fat yogurt with granola, natural flavour, (145g), use-by dates: 27/10, 10/11, 30/11;
• Glenisk 0% fat yogurt with granola, honey flavour, (145g), use-by dates: 27/10, 10/11, 23/11, 30/11;
• SuperValu yogurt with granola, natural flavour, (145g), use-by dates: 27/10, 10/11, 30/11;
• SuperValu yogurt with granola, strawberry flavour, (145g), use-by dates: 27/10, 10/11, 30/11.

Glenisk alerted the Food Safety Authority of Ireland immediately on receipt of the laboratory results and said it is working with them.

No reports of adverse reactions from consumers with peanut allergies have been received. Anybody who is allergic to peanuts and who may have consumed any of the affected products is advised to contact their medical practitioner.

Customers in possession of an affected product, and who are concerned that they may be allergic to peanuts, are asked to return it to the shop where it was purchased to avail of a full refund.

No action is required for those who do not suffer from peanut allergies.
