There was a post-recession razzmatazz amongst the revellers who enjoyed last night’s kick-off of the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival.

The organisers expect more than 40,000 jazz lovers from all over the world to descend on the city this bank holiday weekend to enjoy 400 music sessions in over 60 pubs, theatres, clubs and hotels.

Renowned as one of the best jazz festivals in Europe, it continues to grow bigger and better year-on-year with this year’s lineup including an eclectic mix of artists like The Coronas, Gary Numan, The Drifters, The Darius Brubeck Quartet and Marcus Miller.
