A judge has refused legal aid to a pair of unemployed Polish men who are accused of the burglary of a woman’s house while she was at Mass .

During a following case involving a Czech national, the judge remarked it was time “these fellows were hammered”.

Robert Jakubaues, aged 34, of Reeks View, Dunmaniheen, Killorglin, Co Kerry, is accused of entering the home of a named woman and committing theft on Tuesday last; he is further accused of stealing an Apple iPod on August 31 at Kerry Woollen Mills. Serafin Grabowski, aged 29, of the same addres, is accused of the burglary on Tuesday.
