Time these fellows were hammered, says judge
During a following case involving a Czech national, the judge remarked it was time “these fellows were hammered”.
Robert Jakubaues, aged 34, of Reeks View, Dunmaniheen, Killorglin, Co Kerry, is accused of entering the home of a named woman and committing theft on Tuesday last; he is further accused of stealing an Apple iPod on August 31 at Kerry Woollen Mills. Serafin Grabowski, aged 29, of the same addres, is accused of the burglary on Tuesday.
Judge O’Connor questioned why the State was agreeing to bail.
However, Insp Brennan said the men had no previous convictions and bail included a number of conditions. The judge agreed to the bail terms. When their solicitor applied for legal aid for the men, Judge O’Connor refused.
Separately, Roman Polyak aged 32, of Park Drive, and also Pinewood, Killarney, was before the court on 15 counts of theft between February and August 2014, and one charge of driving without insurance.
There was no full detail yet of the losses, Insp John Brennan said.
“It’s time now these fellows were hammered!” the judge remarked to the garda. He
remanded Mr Polyak in custody to appear in Killarney next Tuesday. He refused legal aid.
