City officials have pledged to address access, along with health and safety issues, at a new city park following the cancellation of another public event on the site.

It is the second time in recent months issues have arisen with the staging of large public events at the Tramore Valley Park in Cork — the new amenity area on the site of the city’s former Kinsale Road landfill. It has undergone a €40m decontamination and remediation process.

Internal roads and walkways have been built, new pitches laid, a BMX track developed, and a large multi-use event space which can host circuses or outdoor concerts created as part of a city council plan to develop one of the largest public parks in Cork City.
