Second man to face trial over alleged park rape

A second man was sent forward for trial yesterday on a charge of raping a young woman in a park in Cork in the early hours of the morning. The alleged rape took place on June 28, 2013.

Second man to face trial over alleged park rape

Inspector Bill Duane confirmed yesterday that a second man had been served with a book of evidence.

On the inspector’s application Judge Leo Malone sent the case forward for trial at the Central Criminal Court. It will then be a matter for that court to set a date for hearing the case. The defendant’s co-accused was previously served with a book of evidence on a similar charge for his alleged part in the incident.
