Appeal for witnesses to string of violent incidents in city

Gardaí are investigating a number of incidents that happened in Galway at the weekend, including a stabbing, a robbery, and a serious assault that left a man in critical condition in hospital.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information about the disturbances, which all occurred between 2am and 3.30am yesterday, to come forward.

At around 2.15am, a man aged 38 reported to gardaí that he had been threatened at knifepoint by a man on the Headford Rd.
