Mihai Antonala and Aurel Anghel were arrested outside Wexford Court on Wednesday and brought before a sitting of Clonakilty District Court yesterday.

Judge Timothy Lucey heard that the two men, alongside a third co-accused who was not in court yesterday, were caught on CCTV stealing the cosmetics from Matt Murphy’s Pharmacy in Macroom on August 4 last.

Mr Antonala and Mr Anghel pleaded guilty to the charges yesterday and wished for the matter to be dealt with, but Judge Lucey said that, as a third defendant was involved, the men would be remanded in custody until a sitting of Macroom District Court on September 2.

Defence solicitor John (Sean) O’Donovan said Mr Antonala found the previous night in Macroom Garda Station, to be “a sobering experience”.
