Starting with Irish Water - More than 20 people will face court hearings in connection with a water charge protest in which Tánaiste Joan Burton was trapped in her car for over two hours in Tallaght last year.

The number of domestic violence applications to the courts has risen in recent years, official figures show. The number of court orders barring individuals from the family home dropped from by 1,420 in 2007 to 877 last year, a 38% decline.

Following on from yesterday’s Leaving Cert results, parents pay out an average of €453 a month to support each child through college, with more students forced to live at home because of rising costs.
